Presentation
The Artificial Intelligence Platform for Ports (PIAP) is an initiative that has emerged from the Ports and Digitalization Working Groups of the Spanish Transport Association (AET) as a result of the current need to promote innovation in ports around the world and the growing application of new technologies in the field of port logistics, both in Spain and Europe and internationally.
Objectives
PIAP's objectives are to disseminate, promote, and develop initiatives and implement projects involving artificial intelligence (AI) and other technologies related to digitalization in the port logistics ecosystem, as catalysts for efficiency in the sector.
PIAP has set up a public, open web repository containing the main developments in artificial intelligence and digitization in the logistics and port sector identified and validated by the PIAP Advisory Board.
Organization
PIAP has a minimal organizational structure consisting of its Coordinators and Advisory Board.
Coordinators
The Coordinators will act within the scope of PIAP with representative and organizational functions, assuming the necessary leadership for the dissemination, development, and successful implementation of this initiative.
The Coordinators will form part of the Advisory Board and will collaborate in its functions.
Advisory Board
The Advisory Board will be composed of PIAP Coordinators, representatives appointed by PIAP sponsors, and other suitable individuals at the discretion and recommendation of the AET.
The Advisory Board will have the following main functions:
- Identify solutions for the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and digitization in the port sector.
- Assess the feasibility and scalability of the identified solutions.
- Verify the accuracy of the solutions as far as possible.
- Validate the incorporation of identified solutions into the PIAP repository, promoting their adoption through training, dissemination, and implementation (pilot projects).
- Issue strategic and technological recommendations.
- Ensure that the platform remains aligned with trends and needs in the port sector.
- Collaborate with Coordinators in the performance of their duties
